Safety Contacts
ICA offers a wide selection of safety and health services to the construction industry. These services contribute to the bottom line of our member firms by educating supervisors and laborers on safe working habits that will help prevent accidents, save lives and lower workers' compensation costs. Some additional offerings include, but are not limited to:
- IDOL/ICA Partnership - Requires monthly reporting, semi-annual meeting with best practices review, annual analysis of program with IDOL and review of applicant information, including office and jobsite visits.
- IOSHA Citation Support - Staff provides technical and hearing support to member contractors who have been cited by IOSHA.
- Stolen Equipment Alerts - When notified of stolen equipment, staff sends an email alert to all members. Alerts include serial numbers, description of equipment, photos, etc. To date there is about a 50% recovery rate.
- Numerous employee training sessions held around Indiana (OSHA 10-Hour, OSHA 30-Hour, Crane Safety, Trenching & Excavating, Steel Erection, Confined Space, etc.)
You can also ensure your peers and potential clients are aware of your commitment to safety excellence by applying for an ICA Safety Program Award. Like most safety award programs, it recognizes member companies that have taken actions that might include: advocacy, leadership or coordination of an effort to adopt best practices; enhancing employee understanding of safety issues and prevention methods; and demonstrating a consistent, long-term commitment to safety leadership.
What sets the ICA Safety Program Awards apart is that it doesn’t rely on numbers, checklists and written descriptions alone. Confidential feedback collected from onsite workers and supervisors will play a major role in determining how well each company’s safety program is communicated to their employees, and how well it is carried out on a daily basis – making the ICA Safety Program Awards a unique program.
The application deadline for this years’ ICA Safety Program Awards is July 31. Please check back for more information about the winners, as well as next year’s application.
We invite you to contact the ICA Safety team for additional information at (317) 472-6777.
