$50 Million Logistics Firm Investing Here
5/25/2010

HERALD ARGUS

The decision by a transportation company to build a $50 million warehouse and distribution center at the Kingsbury Industrial Park is terrific news. For several years, railroad companies and others were rumored to be eyeing a logistics center in southern La Porte County, where several railroad tracks intersect, with highways nearby, and plenty of space available at the industrial park. However, the recession probably put a damper on any plans. New development at the site, which formerly was an ammunition and military shell manufacturing factory, the Kingsbury Ordnance Plant, is particularly welcome, rather than at a "greenfield" site where farmland would have been converted to industrial use.
